Fellowship in Phacoemulsification

Eligibility Criteria : DO / MS / DNB

Duration : 1 Year

Stipend : 45000 Per Month

The program is targeted for new comer ophthalmologists who wish to learn and upgrade their skills in Phacoemulsification

What we Offer

To learn comprehensive patient care with state of art diagnostic and surgical equipment.
To do refraction and glass dispensing.
We teach fellows Basic ophthalmology history, examination techniques and management of a patient with cataract and the management of the postoperative complications.
Evaluation and timely referral of patients with more advanced diseases in the subspecialties. Also we give opportunity to learn from specialist consultants as and when possible.
To learn Refractive- LASIK Work-up, Glaucoma work up and medical retina modalities.
Fellows will be exposed to various techniques of preoperative workup for cataract surgeries. Fellows also get a chance in preoperative workup for specialized intraocular lenses like Multifocal, Toric & phakic implants (ICL etc.)
Wet lab training under supervision and with video recording facilities are available at our clinics. We discuss each recorded case after surgery and expert comments will be given by Dr. Darshin Bavishi.
Fellows should perform minimum of 70 - 80 topical phaco surgeries during their academic year.
We will train them in Manual small incision cataract surgery, Phacoemulsification, YAG capsulotomy. We give our fellows specialty surgeries like Pterygium, Chalazion excision.
We encourage our fellows to Participate in state level and national level conferences, CMEs, seminars. Fellows are expected to present at least one paper/ poster during their tenure in a CME meeting outside of the institution.
